Trying to be Batman can get you arressted

Yes, we're all very excited about THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. In fact, some people simply can't wait to see Batman, they want to be him.
It seems that a 31-year-old dude garbed in the costume and cowl of the Dark Knight (that's the doughy suspect above) was arrested in Petoskey, MI while in the process of fighting crime.
Well, he was actually "hanging from the wall of a downtown business," but he was definitely armed and ready for any action he might encounter there.
According to the report, the chunky caped crusader was cuffed for trespassing and possession of dangerous weapons when "officers pulled the man back onto the roof and found a baton type striking weapon, a can of chemical irritant spray, and a pair of lead lined gloves."
It seems that his utility belt did not, however, include a container of anti-perspirant.
The masked man's secret identity has not been revealed, but he is clearly not, as the saying goes, "the goddamn Batman

Production has begon on the Dark Knight Rises


Finally, production has begun on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Warner Bros. sent out a fairly long press release that principal photography has started on the epic conclusion of Christopher Nolan's BATMAN trilogy.

The press release gives us everything except for a plot. Not that I figured one would just been there waiting for me, but I'm still really curious how this chapter is going to end. Especially with the inclusion of two characters I've never heard of before (and were not found in my trusty Batman encyclopedia): Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard) and John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Well, there was that coloring book page that shows the Joker stealing little Johnny Blake's report card (via Bad Ass Digest).

Dark Kight viral begins


To coincide with the DARK KNIGHT RISES Start of Production announcement yesterday (even though filming technically began about a week ago), Warner Bros. quietly launched the TDKR official website this morning. And? Your guess is as good as mine!

The page is completely black with absolutely no imagery. All there is at this point is a sound file (titled "rises") that plays automatically when the page is loaded. It's some kind of chanting like TEMPLE OF DOOM style. Or perhaps more correctly, Lazarus Pit style.

Of course this is all speculation at this point and no one really knows what this is just yet. Maybe someone will recognize the language and be able to decipher exactly what is going on here.

Head over to the site yourself and see if you can figure out exactly what's going on (or find something hidden that no one else has seen yet...).

UPDATE - A poster on the Superhero Hype message boards was able to decipher the sound spectrum of the audio message and found something interesting hidden inside. A Twitter hashtag?...

We've been hearing word that this film will bring the Nolan trilogy full circle in many ways, and if the word I've been hearing from the set is accurate, then that's not just a thematic promise. According to sources, none other than Liam Neeson was on the set of "The Dark Knight Rises" on Monday, shooting a scene as Ra's al Ghul.

Right now, I can't confirm if the scene was meant to be a flashback or if it takes place in the current timeline of the films, but Neeson was there, and he was in front of the cameras.

De teaser is vertoond voorafgaand aan The Green Lantern (ik neem aan in Amerika) en is opgenomen met een telefoon. Het stelt imho helemaal niets voor, maar voor de liefhebbers staat hij hier.

Oh, ik lees net dat het een fanmade teaser is en dat hij dus fake is.

The Dark Knight was fantastisch, dus laat dat derde deel maar komen. Nolan doet de regie opnieuw, dus dat zal wel goed komen. Bij bijvoorbeeld Terminator en X-Men betekende een andere regisseur een slechtere derde film. Alhoewel dezelfde regisseur geen garantie is. Spider-man 3 was duidelijke een mindere film, maar ik heb gewoon een goed gevoel over deze derde Batman film.

Is er hier iemand, die nog naar de 4 eerdere Batman films kan kijken? Misschien alleen de eerste met Jack Nicholson, maar die andere 3 zijn niet best naar mijn mening. Alhoewel ik destijds deel 3 en 4 beter vond, omdat er meer licht en kleur in zat. Hoe kan zoiets verkeren.

Jawel hoor. De Batman-films van Burton, en dan met name Batman Returns, zijn nog steeds prima films. Wat daarna kwam sloeg de plank mis. De derde is nog enigszins te doen, maar de vierde is ronduit slecht.

Nou bij mij wél hoor. Nolan's films zijn zeker toppers. Maar de eerste twee Batman films hebben bij mij een hoog sentimentele waarde. Allereerst waren het de eerste batman films waarin bats er een beetje als in de comics uitzag. Daarnaast is de sfeer zo uit de comics gegrepen. Meer dan de Nolan film. Deze zijn meer gericht op het grote publiek. Zeg maar de niet comicfans. Weliswaar beoordeel ik het op het gevoel toen ik de films voor het eerst zag. Dan maakte de eerste Batmanfilm bij mij de meeste indruk. Móet ik wel zeggen dat Batman mijn favo superheld was toen ik nog een tiener was. Ik was zwaar gefascineerd en heftig Batmanfan. Daarna spidey, sup, Hulk en The Avengers. X-men begon ik pas later te waarderen.

Op basis van die gegevens is dit mijn lijst.
