Universal Studios has announced The Frighteners: Director's Cut for release on November 29th. Peter Jackson's 1996 ghost story finally will be available in the 123-minute extended cut (adding twelve minutes of footage) that was originally released nine years ago on laserdisc. The DVD will come with a new 2.35 anamorphic transfer and a Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Bonus materials haven't been announced yet, but unless this single disc release is two-sided don't expect the full four-and-a-half hour documentary from the laserdisc.
