FRIDAY THE 13TH THE COMPLETE COLLECTION Coming to Blu-ray, 9/13

On September 13th, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will provide plenty of blood-curdling thrills when Friday The 13th: The Complete Collection debuts on Blu-ray. For the first time, all twelve Friday the 13th films will be packaged together, (with seven of them making Blu-ray debuts) as a result of a strategic distribution alliance between Paramount and Warner announced last fall, granting Warner exclusive video distribution rights to over 600 Paramount titles. The set also includes a Friday The 13th Killer Extras Bonus DVD.

This intense 'slasher' series is one of the longest-running and most successful horror franchises in film history, surpassing the domestic theatrical box-office grosses of such legendary series as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The film that turned psycho killer Jason Voorhees and his infamous hockey mask into a pop culture icon has also bested the horror competition as the #1 home entertainment seller, with total sales of $119.7M to date.

The 10-disc collection ($129.95 SRP) includes the twelve films on nine Blu-ray discs, as well as a killer DVD bonus disc full of special features on the making of the famous franchise. The must-own set will be presented in a collectible tin case with 11 hours of previously released special features and a 40-page soft cover book. The book is excerpted from Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday The 13th, a fan-favorite volume that's viewed as the ultimate memoir of the series, and highlights some of the 200 interviews, 600 photos, storyboards, concept art and more. Also included is a brand new, official Camp Crystal Lake embroidered Counselor Patch.

Friday The 13th: The Complete Collection also includes digital versions of all 12 films with UltraViolet, allowing viewers to download and instantly stream the films to a wide range of devices from computers and compatible tablets to smartphones, game consoles, Internet-connected TVs and Blu-ray players.


One of the most frightening franchises in film history, Friday The 13th focuses primarily on the character of Jason Voorhees, who drowned as a young child at Camp Crystal Lake due to the inattentiveness of camp counselors. Many years later, the camp becomes the scene of a number of murders - all of which are either committed or motivated by the avenging Jason, who forever lurks at Crystal Lake with his finely-honed machete.

Ik ook, hoop alleen wel dat het de ''ongesneden'' Cuts zijn, en niet de verknipte.

Maar dit is een ware klassieker-reeks voor mij en vele anderen geloof ik.

Ik zie een Nederlandse box niet gebeuren. Deze box is er gekomen omdat Warner Bros. eigenaar is van New Line Cinema en sinds kort de titels van Paramount in Amerika distribueert. De verdeling van de rechten van alle titels is hier in Nederland een stuk gecompliceerder.

En Warner slaat Nederland voor 99% met BD uitgaven over....

Laten we dan hopen dat ie in ieder geval Regio vrij zal zijn, ook wel makkelijk denk ik zo voor de meeste

Ik kijk hier ook naar uit, het is alleen jammer dat er niet wat meer tijd en moeite aan besteed is. Graag had ik ook de scenes die geknipt waren als losse extra's terug gezien zoals op sommige DVD edities en dat deel 3 niet in Real 3D is, is natuurlijk een gemiste kans!

Maar goed, ben allang blij dat de rest eindelijk ook op BD uitkomt.

Edit: de geknipte scenes staan er blijkbaar toch als extra's op.

Ik wil deze box ook maar ik wacht nog de official specs af (zoals subtitles) & een price drop (waarvan men denkt dat dit snel na release zal gebeuren).

Prijzig boxje wel, hopelijk gaat de prijs nog wat zakken. De remake hadden ze van mij wel weg mogen laten. Wat betreft de uncut versies, ik denk niet dat we die ooit gaan zien.

zijn die vervolgdelen eigenlijk de moeite waard? Ik heb tot nu toe enkel maar deel 1 en 2 gezien.

Persoonlijk vind ik deel 1 t/m 6 echt goed.

Deel 1 is natuurlijk een klassieker, 2 ging wel maar was meer van hetzelfde. Deel 3, 4 en 5 vind ik ook zeer goed, die hebben die typsiche 80s slasher vibe! Deel 6 was ook wel aardig maar hier zit wel wat meer humor in. Deel 7 ging ook nog maar helaas is deze destijds zelf genadeloos afgeslacht door de MPAA waardoor er van de vele bloederige kills helemaal niks meer over is gebleven.

Deel 8 vond ik zeer slecht door het belachelijke verhaal, het slechte acteerwerk en de algehele knulligheid van de film. Deel 9 vind ik ook slecht om dezelfde redenen maar dat is ook geen Friday film meer te noemen. Deel 10 heb ik maar 1x gezien toen deze uitkwam dus daar weet ik vrij weinig meer van.

Mercie voor de uiteenzetting. Ik denk dat ik het bij deel 1 ga houden. Voor mij is dan deel 2 tot en met 10 maar eenmalige kijkwaarde aan vast.

Vind 6 ook wel goed maar deze zit af en toe net tegen het randje van camp aan vind ik, de manier waarop Jason hier weer terug komt geeft ook aan welke richting de serie met dit deel op gaat.

Ondanks de twist blijf ik deel 5 ook goed vinden, het zijn de absurde verhalen en knullige uitwerking van deel 8 en 9 die ze echt bar slecht maken.

Terwijl voor ontzettend veel mensen de ''Friday the 13th Jason'' toch deze man is (van de latere delen 7,8, 9 en 10) :



Kane Hodder is voor mij de ultieme Jason Voorhees, en staat synoniem voor Friday the 13th.

De andere zijn misschien aardig, maar zijn pussy's vergeleken met hem.

Hij speelde de rol het meeste van iedereen, namelijk in deel 7, 8 9 en 10, en de films met hem hebben ook de beste kills mijn inziens

De andere delen zijn ook leuk, maar de leukste films zijn voor mij toch die met legende Kane Hodder.

After taking a quick look at Warner's upcoming Blu-ray release of Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection, I thought I'd share a couple of things that many people may have questions about. You can expect a full review sometime next week. - Matt

• No new special features were created specifically for this set.
• Save for the artwork, the discs featuring Friday the 13th, Friday the 13th Part II and Friday the 13th Part 3 are the exact same discs that were previously released by Paramount; Friday the 13th Part 3 is still presented in 2D and red and blue anaglyph 3D.
• Likewise, save for the artwork the disc for Friday the 13th (2009) is the same as the previous release. The disc containing Freddy Vs. Jason has a revamped menu, but the same content as the previous Blu-ray release.
• Only the R-rated cut of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday is included; the commentary track found on the DVD is also absent.
• The "Killer Bonus" DVD of extras included in the set is the exact same disc that was included with the "From Crystal Lake To Manhattan" boxed set released in 2004, right down to the disc artwork and copyright stamp.
• After a cursory look it seems that all of the Deluxe Collector's Edition extras for Fridays 4-8 have been ported over to the set, and many of them are now presented in high definition.
• The "From Crystal Lake To Manhattan" commentary tracks for Friday the 13th Part 3 and Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood are not included; all of the original eight Paramount films contain at least one commentary track except for Friday the 13th Part II and Friday the 13th Part 3 which do not have one. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives and Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan each include two commentary tracks.
• The UltraViolet code included with the set is one code for the entire collection--you do not get a separate code for each film.

Leuk alleen niet voor 130$ dus ik ga wel wachten tot ie naar beneden gaat.

WB zou voor 3 jaar de rechten hebben om deze box uit te brengen dus in die 3 jaar zal er hopelijk wel eens een price drop zijn. Ik wacht ook tot ie onder of rond de 70$ komt vooraleerd aan te schaffen.
