Ik vermoed dat men de tekenfilm ook wel zal remasteren tegen wanneer de "Film" van Tim Burton in de zalen komt of op Blu-ray zal verschijnen.

Disney Fast-Tracks Alice in Wonderland Blu-ray

Like the white rabbit, Walt Disney Studios is in a hurry – to release Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland on Blu-ray, and has handed exhibitors a "Drink me" bottle that will shrink the theatrical run of the movie to a mere 13 weeks, when the current average theatrical-to-home-video window of a movie in the US is 16 weeks. Exhibitors, in turn, want a bigger slice of the box office cake during that compressed window. If the parties reach an agreement, the BD release date could be set for early June.

For the studio, an early home video release is beneficial because of the movie's family-friendly subject matter and well-known cast. Also it avoids having to compete for screens (especially 3-D ones) with other tentpole titles coming soon afterwards, such as Warner's Clash of the Titans.

Disney has similarly negotiated a shorter theatrical run in the UK. In Europe (and in most of the world), cinema attendance is expected to fall steeply in June, because of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Ze staan beiden als tentative op de lijst van Wedlock. December meen ik.

Ik hoop dat ze allemaal doorgaan, ik vrees alleen dat dit een erg optimistische lijst is. De eerste niet-platinatitel (Dumbo) ging in elk geval alvast niet door op het aangegeven tijdstip... Maar gráág!

Ik denk dat dit net iets van het goede teveel is voor dit jaar.

Maar AIW-animatiefilm zal er volgens mij wel komen n.a.v. de nieuwe Tim Burton-film.

Ik ben zo bang dat het weer zo´n zoetig geval met liedjes en zo wordt, zoiets als Nightmare Before Xmas, waar ik ook niks aan vond.
Want Carroll´s boek is allerminst zoetig!

Inderdaad want erg veel zie je Depp niet. Maar is wel een erg goeie marketingtruc

De UK-versie met Nederlandse ondertitels komt op 4 Juni 2010 uit.

The film will be available on standard DVD, Blu-ray Combi (includes BD & DVD) and Blu-ray Combo (includes BD, DVD and Digital Copy). RRP is £19.99, £23.99 and £24.99 respectively.

HMV are also offering exclusive packaging on the DVD and Blu-ray Combi editions.

Dat was dan ook de reden dat de bioscopen niet zo erg tevreden waren met disney. Waren ze echt ontevreden of was het een publiciteitsstunt, geen idee.
