Sony Electronics announced today three new Blu-ray Disc player with Netflix support and SACD playback: models BDP-S370, BDP-S570, and the 3-D compatible BDP-S770. These players will feature a unique iPhone/iPod touch BD Remote Control application.

Users with an iPhone or iPod touch devices can control the players using a free application that can be downloaded from the Apple App store. The application allows an iPhone/iPod touch to function as a remote control that includes the ability to access a Blu-ray Disc's details such as jacket artwork, actor, and production information as well as search for additional video clips online.

Dit is de BD85

Binnenkort heb je grotere blu-ray schijfjes. ( van 25 naar 34 gig per zijde ). Kunnen de huidge spelers dit gewoon draaien ?! ( stand-alone's ) De Ps3 krijgt een update, dus daar ga je geen problemen mee krijgen , maar de rest ?! Ik gebruik een stand alone omdat ik dat net wat mooier vindt dan een ps3.

Extra features zijn wel aardig, maar snel opstarten moet nog aan gewerkt worden?

New tech from Sony and Panasonic sees standard disc capacity raised from 25GB to 33.4GB

The prospect of additional layers means that Blu-ray capacity will no doubt over time continue to increase, but a new development from Sony and Panasonic could see the capacity of standard Blu-ray discs given a sizable bump.
Best of all, the new tech is accessible to owners of current Blu-ray players, including the PS3. A simple firmware update will be the only requirement.

Blu-ray.com reports that a new form of disc evaluation – a technique that tests individual discs for faults, consuming storage space in the process – will increase a disc’s standard capacity from the current 25GB to 33.4GB.
It is expected that the Blu-ray Disc Association will begin work on updating official Blu-ray specs to accommodate the advances some time later this year.

FF kort op je vraag: Na een software update moeten ook de huidige spelers, inclusief de PS3, de schijfjes kunnen afspelen.

Zou ook niet slim zijn als dat niet zo was, dan kan zo'n formaat gelijk zijn koffers wel pakken.

Heeft iemand al ervaring met de Panasonic BD65 of BD85 met de 'Stop toets' ?
Ergens in een Duits forum gelezen dat de stoppositie wordt bewaard, m.a.w. na indrukken van de stoptoets gaat de film niet weer helemaal van voren af aan beginnen als de playtoets weer wordt ingedrukt maar de film wordt hervat vanaf de stoppositie.
In de handleiding van de Panasonic BD65/BD85 staat echter dat afhankelijk van de inhoud van de disc dit niet altijd werkt.
Ik heb zelf een Panasonic BD35, bij deze speler kan ik maar bij zo'n 1 op de 10 titels hervatten vanaf de stoppositie.
Ik ben benieuwd of dit bij de BD65/BD85 anders is.

Vanmiddag de S370 gekocht na een korte periode de LG BD370 te hebben gehad. De Sony bevalt me toch wel wat beter moet ik zeggen.

Tot op heden waren de BR spelers van Pioneer nu niet direct hoogstandjes, zou ze dan ook niet ongetest gaan aanschaffen en de reviews zeker nog even afwachten.
