Nu ik toch bezig ben, het veel minder discutabele lijstje voor Pixar Disney. Gesorteerd op productiejaar bij afwezigheid van een nummerlijst. Misschien kan dat er in de OP bij...

Disney maakt er zelf een zooitje van door naar believen titels in en uit de lijst te gooien al naargelang het hun afdeling marketing het best uitkomt. Voor mij is Pete's Dragon géén klassieker, er zijn namelijk een zestal van dergelijke films met een mengeling van traditionele animatie en gewone acteurs uitgekomen, waarvan de bekendste Mary Poppins is. Die horen eenvoudig in deze lijst niet thuis.

Maar het is wat ik al eerder constateerde i.v.m. de golden / diamond / platinum benaming. Bij Disney zit er geen enkel personeelslid dat langer dan vijf minuten aan een zelfde concept kan denken.

Ik heb gisteren o.a. Pete's dragon gekocht, maar het was me niet opgevallen dat ie een nummer had. Ik ben wel erg benieuwd hoe ze dat dan gaan doen met de nummering van de nakomende titels, want volgens mij zijn de "animated classics" (kennen ze die benaming nog bij de Benelux-afdeling van Disney?) van na Pete's dragon tot nu toe wel volgens de originele nummering genummerd. Ergens moet er dus een echte AC uit het rijtje gewipt worden om de nummering weer kloppend te maken.

Uit de lijst kun je opmaken dat ergens in de mid-20 nummers er bij Disney Nederland 3 titels tussengeschoven zijn, zoals Pete’s Dragon. Ook is er iets ingefutseld rond nr 50.

The Wild kan het inderdaad zijn. Op Ultimate Disney las ik ook het volgende:

You may very well have overlooked The Wild when it was released to theaters in April 2006, thanks to only modest promotion and a relatively humble box office performance. In recent days, however, the computer animated film has been the subject of fervent discussion, as Disney -- in at least some corners of the 'net and globe -- has asserted it as the 46th film in their line of "Animated Classics", a collection traditionally comprised of feature films produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released theatrically.

Theoretisch zijn A Christmas Carol, Valiant en Pooh's Heffalump Movie trouwens ook nog kandidaten, maar dat lijken me veel onwaarschijnlijkere titels.

Vandaag eerste deellevering gehad van Dvdoutlet met Mulan, Peter en de Draak en Aladdin.

Over de vervolgdelen van de Classics kan ik kort zijn: buiten Bambi 2, de Tinkerbel vervolgdelen en de Aladdin vervolgdelen komen er bij mij geen vervolgdelen in. Verhaal en tekeningen zijn vaak ondermaats.

Deze zijn inderdaad regiovrij; heb beide in bezit.

Planes is gemaakt door DisneyToon Studios en niet door Pixar. Qua niveau zal het dus een stapje lager zijn. Ondanks dat het gepland was dat deze direct op DVD/Blu-ray zou uit komen, komt de film toch eerst in de bioscoop. Ik ben wel bang dat dit er eentje voor de schaamtelijst gaat worden.

Secret of the Wings is trouwens de vierde Tinkerbell film. Ondanks dat je het bij Disney nooit helemaal zeker weet staan er voor dit jaar nog een behoorlijk aantal releases op de planning. Als ik zie wat er dit jaar nog gepland staat zouden de classics volgend jaar toch zo goed als allemaal op Blu-ray verschenen moeten zijn. Met als kanttekening dat Make Mine Music een apart geval blijft.

Hmm, als ik die Amerikaanse edities zo zie, dan begin ik toch te twijfelen wat ik liever heb. Of voor 27 dollar een slipcase en het vervolg erbij, of de NL edities van dit moment - met prima beeld/geluid (Waar ik vooral blu-ray voor heb) voor 12,99...

Mochten ze Keizer Kuzco hier uitgeven binnenkort dan heb ik momenteel zelfs liever de versies zoals ze nu hier uitgeven dan deel 2 erbij en dan veel duurder (plus de slipcase ziet met 2 titels erop niet uit naar mijn mening).

Niet in Nederland, helaas. Make Mine Music is wel in uitgebracht in USA. Deze MMM DVD is zelfs te koop bij ECI, BOL.COM, en andere webshops.
