At least the original Batman is expected to street in May (just prior to the release of Batman Begins in theaters) and a box set of all four films is planned for October or November.

Hmm...'t zou toch logischer zijn als ze de boxset zouden uitbrengen met Batman Begins er ook in, dus met alle 5 de Batman films?

Maakt mij trouwens niets uit, ik ben alleen geinteresseerd in Batman en Batman Returns (en Batman Begins).

Can`t wait. laat maar komen. deel 1 en 2 koop ik zeker. de andere 2 zeer waarschijnlijk niet, die films zuigen 8)

klopt .. ookal weet ik zeker dat ze na deze box NOG een box uit gaan geven, met nog meer extra's, waarbij de beeld- en geluidkwaliteit nog meer is verbeterd , en Batman 5 uiteraard ook bijzit .. WB heeft het geflikt met Matrix en zal dat denk ik ook doen met Batman

Natuurlijk is het onzinnig om verschillende visies van verschillende regiseurs door te rekenen als een serie.

Batman on Film recently got contacted by a source who has some more info on the upcoming special edition DVDs of the first four "Batman" films. Amongst the facts gleaned:

- The first two films are finished. Tim Burton re-recorded his commentary tracks with a "guest." Disc One of both will include remastered pictures and sound with commentary. Disc 2 has trailers, TV Spots, vintage footage and a new featurette on the film. The first film also gets a feature length documentary.

- Joel recorded commentary tracks for the theatrical edition of "Batman Forever" along with "Batman & Robin". Afterwards Joel decided to ask WB to recut "Forever" back to something that resembles his original edit. WB agreed and gave him a budget to do so. Joel is currently in Burbank working on some alterations to the film.

- It's expected the original version will be there with the new cut to be done with 'seamless branching' technology. The extended cut is expected to run around 2 hrs 35 mins. Schumacher is going to add as much footage as possible back in. Also some of the effects were not finished in the early workprint and they need to be finished and he has been given a small budget to work with for that, all new effects will be digital.

Current title is going to be '10th Anniversary Extended Director's Cut'.

Zoals ook hier te lezen staat, was de oorspronkelijke versie van Batman Forever een stuk langer en begrijpelijker dan de uiteindelijke versie, na dit allemaal gelezen te hebben, begin ik nu toch ook een beetje nieuwsgierig te worden naar Batman Forever. Overigens vind ik die covers toch wel erg mooi, en ik hoop ook dat WB die covers, of soortgelijke covers kiest voor de SE's.

't zijn zeker mooie hoezen.

Aangezien ik zonodig alles van Tim Burton op DVD, Video, CD en Laserdisc moet hebben heb ik ook de UK Video's. Dit zijn soortgelijke hoezen:

Dus dat DVD artwork was al een beetje gejat, maar van mij mogen ze deze ook zeker gebruiken voor de SE's!!!

Beter goed gejat dan slecht bedacht zeg ik dan maar. Batman Returns ziet er met name erg goed uit op deze manier.
