Mark Wahlberg will star in Martin Scorsese's The Departed at Warner Bros. Pictures. The Hollywood Reporter says he is in talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon in the police thriller, a remake of the Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs.

The story, set in Boston, centers on a gangster (Damon) who infiltrates the police department and a cop (DiCaprio) who infiltrates the gangs at the same time. The two find out that a mole is in each organization and race to find each other's identity.

Wahlberg would play a cop who's a key figure in DiCaprio's life. William Monahan (Kingdom of Heaven) adapted the material.

Had al een tijdje terug gelezen dat er een remake zou komen. Alweer een remake! je wordt er niet goed van.
aan de andere kant: deze komt wel van Scorsese dus dat zal vast wel wat worden, al ben ik bang dat ie t niet haalt bij t origineel

Nicholson in Scorsese's The Departed

Jack Nicholson has joined Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Mark Wahlberg in director Martin Scorsese's The Departed at Warner Bros. Pictures. The crime thriller starts filming in April.

Based on the Chinese-linguage Hong Kong gangster film of the same name ("Wu jian dao"), Infernal Affairs will be reset in Boston amid Irish-American mobsters and the cops who are their nemeses. The film was written by William Monahan.

Damon will play a gangster who has infiltrated the Boston police department as part of its cadet class and has been steadily rising through the ranks. DiCaprio will play a cop who's been deep undercover inside the mob and is starting to come unglued. Each side works feverishly to flush the mole out, with deadly consequences.

Variety says Nicholson will play an Irish gang boss. A female co-star to play a cop psychiatrist has yet to be chosen.

Dus Nicholson speelt de rol die Eric Tsang in het origineel speelt? Op zich wel interesant, zijn beide goede acteurs.

zeer goede keuze. ben toch bang dat ik m`n huiverigheid die ik eerst had voor deze remake toch een beetje moet bijstellen. denk dat dit best wat kan worden.Nu nog Naomi Watts, Cate Blanchett of Jennifer Connely voor de rol als psychiatrist

Dit kan wel es een classic in the making zijn. Kijk naar die namen en kijk naar t materiaal waar ze mee werken (waar ze volgens Scorsese ook nog een originele draai aan gaan geven hij heeft Infernal Affairs immers zelf nooit gezien) ik kan niet wachten!!

Anderson Joining Scorsese's Departed

Anthony Anderson (King's Ransom) is in final talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg and Jack Nicholson in the Martin Scorsese police thriller The Departed, Warner Bros. Pictures' remake of the Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs.

The story, set in Boston, revolves around a gangster (Damon) who infiltrates the police department and a cop (DiCaprio) who infiltrates the gangs. The two find out that a mole is in each organization and race to find each other's identity. Anderson will play a cop that has had close relations with both men and ends up in an emotional conflict.

William Monahan (Kingdom of Heaven) wrote the script.

als de rol die beschreven is de rol van Keung wordt, dan kan dit wel eens goede keuze zijn. Erg coole rol.
Ben langzamerhand toch erg benieuwd aan t worden naar deze film, ondanks dat ik eigenlijk tegen remakes ben....

Farmiga Lands Female Departed Lead

Vera Farmiga will play the female lead opposite Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson in director Martin Scorsese's The Departed for Warner Bros Pictures, says Variety.

She has also closed a deal for a supporting role in Anthony Minghella's Breaking and Entering. Jude Law will play Will, a London architect in personal and professional crisis whose life collides with that of a young immigrant.

Farmiga, who was honored by the 2004 Sundance Film Festival for her performance in Down to the Bone, followed with a role as Liev Schreiber's love interest in The Manchurian Candidate and a part in the ensemble of HBO's Iron Jawed Angels.

She will next be seen starring opposite Paul Walker in Running Scared, a drama directed by Wayne Kramer (The Cooler).

DiCaprio’s gezicht gehecht na aanval met flesje

Hollywoodster Leonardo DiCaprio (30) is na een fuif in Los Angeles aangevallen. Een vrouw ging hem te lijf met een fles en verwondde de acteur in het gezicht. DiCaprio had een tiental snijwonden en moest naar het ziekenhuis om de wonden te laten hechten. Dat meldt het magazine People dit weekend.
DiCaprio werd door een vreemde vrouw aangevallen, waarschijnlijk met een bierflesje, toen hij een feestje verliet in de villa van Rick Salomon. Salomon is een ex-vriendje van hotelerfgename Paris Hilton.

Volgens de woordvoerder van de acteur, Ken Sunshine, kwam de aanval uit het niets en zonder waarschuwing. De vrouw zou meermaals gevraagd zijn om het landgoed te verlaten.

DiCaprio raakte gewond in de buurt van zijn oor, maar de lopende opnames van Martin Scorseses ,,The Departed'' zouden door het incident niet in het gedrang komen, aldus nog People.

DiCaprio to Play Theodore Roosevelt

Paramount Pictures has optioned the Pulitzer Prize-winning Edmund Morris book The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt and will develop it for Martin Scorsese to direct and Leonardo DiCaprio to star as the 26th U.S. president, reports Variety. Nicholas Meyer (The Human Stain) is writing the script.

The film will chronicle the formative years of Roosevelt as he reinvented himself from a slight and privileged New York politician with a Harvard degree to the burly commander of the Rough Riders, a track that would lead him to the New York governorship, the vice presidency and the White House, when William McKinley was assassinated.

DiCaprio and Scorsese are in the midst of their third film together, The Departed, the Warner Bros. remake of the Hong Kong crime drama Infernal Affairs. The duo also made Gangs of New York and The Aviator together.

Geweldig nieuws als je het mij vraagt... Klinkt veelbelovend. Goed om te zien dat Marty weer helemaal terug is sinds Gangs of New York.

Een klein beetje off-topic wellicht, maar in een nieuwe reclamecampagne voor Philips Ambilight FlatTV's heeft Martin Scorsese zijn top 10 aller tijden genoemd, waarbij hij in dit geval voornamelijk lette op het gebruik van kleur (kenners van Scorsese zullen wellicht weten dat kleurgebruik in zijn eigen films een zeer belangrijke rol speelt). Hij heeft 2 top 10's gemaakt, een voor Engelstalig en een voor niet-Engelstalig.

Lijkt erop dat 95% 1 op 1 is overgenomen. Van gipshand, telefoontjes tot en met de autoscene. Ik zie, beter gezegd hoor alleen het verschil in muziek. Ben benieuwd naar het eindresultaat zal wel een feest van herkenning zijn.

Zaten inderdaad veel herkenbare stukjes in de trailer, had niet verwacht dat ze zoveel dingen letterlijk over zouden nemen. Vond de trailer overigens wel vet en ben zeer benieuwd naar deze film.
