"MGM Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of The Martin Scorsese Film Collection for 14th December 2004 priced at $69.96 SRP. This new 4 DVD collection includes the existing DVD releases of Boxcar Bertha and The Last Waltz SE (also to be reissued separately in new packaging at the lower price of $14.95 SRP each) alongside new editions of Scorsese's New York, New York and Raging Bull.

Goed nieuws! Eindelijk een release van Raging Bull zoals die hoort te zijn. Ik heb natuurlijk al heel lang de huidige 'special edition' in huis. Hoewel de korte documentaire met Thelma Schoonmaker erg leuk en informatief is, is er toch weinig 'speciaals' aan.
Zelf ken ik Boxcar Bertha niet. Kan iemand vertellen of die film de moeite waard is? Is hij kwalitatief te vergelijken met een film als Mean Streets?

Wil het ook wel hier zeggen hoor. Maar je hebt een kortingslink van 1,50 pond en een tijdje geleden kon je nog kortingsvouchers krijgen via L'Oreal, ter waarde van 2 pond.

Ik schaam me rot dat ik deze set nu pas zie..

Wat een pracht-release. De box gaat natuurlijk absoluut in mijn collectie belanden, net zoals de eerste Scorsese-box (die kwam toch de 21e naar Nederland?).

Dat klinkt niet echt heel enthousiast nee.

Ik heb de nieuwe Warner-box al aan me voorbij laten gaan (om enkel Goodfellas los aan te schaffen) maar de MGM box zal ik toch ook niet aanschaffen vrees ik. De nieuwe Raging Bull editie had het 'prijsstuk' moeten zijn maar nu het dat niet is valt voor mij het grootste deel van de aantrekkelijkheid van de set weg. Misschien als ik hem eens als een hele leuke MM-aanbieding tegenkom ofzo...
